Wood Storage Cabinet Make-Over!

Hi there friends!
I hope you are all having a great Saturday. Today was a busy day for me with starting the process of packing up my craft room. I know right? It was just like a couple months ago that I was unpacking it LOL! Great news though!! I am moving back home to New Jersey in just 3 weeks!! I am so excited and I cannot wait to get there! Being away from family for the past two in a half years has been extremely hard and I'm glad that is about to end very soon. More to come on the move soon.

If you all remember a couple weeks back, I posted about doing a wooden cabinet makeover for my craft room. I had this ugly oak wooden storage piece that I got from an old neighbor. They were moving and were going to throw this out for garbage. Although I did not like the "old" feel to it, I grabbed it and immediately decided to use it in my craft room for extra storage. Here is the inside before I started the make-over

This next photo is the "in progress" pic. I had used painter's tape along the edges as I had something in mind for the two sides. Now this cabinet is about 7 feet tall even though it doesn't look so tall in the photos. I had chosen to paint it a pretty "Vintage Yellow" color.

After I painted the cabinet, it was no longer ugly! It was so very pretty!! I decided that it needed a little something extra so I made curtains for it. I bought a tension rod at Wal-Mart and I had this leftover black & white hounds tooth fabric so I decided to use this to jazz up my storage cabinet. I used some black/white ribbon that I had in my stash to use as tie backs.
This picture here shows the bottom of the cabinet. It has two doors on it that I switched out the knobs on. I totally forgot to take a photo of the old knobs but they were a dark oak circle knob. I replaced them with these new shiny, bright white knobs. I love how this turned out! Want to know why I needed that painter's tape for the sides?
Because the sides are now 7 foot long chalkboards!! I didn't have any chalk to write anything on them to show you what it looks like but I surely love this! I purchased some primer and chalkboard paint and created a great work space to jot down reminders for challenges, to create layouts for project life and scrapbooking, or to just create a calendar or inspirational board for crafty motivation.
Here is another shot of the cabinet. I sure hope you like it.
 I know I love it!

Well friends, thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure to stop by tomorrow for a look at the last new stamp set in the new release for 3 Twenty Crafts. Until next time, enjoy life's blessings~
