Show some love using HEARTS With Dies R Us Challenge #66

Hello sweet friends!
Welcome to a new challenge at Dies R US and I sure hope that your day is going well. Are you ready for another fun challenge?? How about some hearts? Our new challenge is to use Hearts on your projects and of course to use your dies! So here is what I created for this challenge!

I decided that I wanted to go in a different direction then Valentine's day. I know that hearts are all around us with Valentine's day just being a few weeks away, but I decided that I would use my hearts to represent love toward my mom. So this card is going to be her Mother's Day card. At least I got it done early! :)

I used a Lifestyle Craft's lace heart die set and took the largest heart to create my card base using some "Tea Party" cardstock by Craft Smith.

Next I used the Cheery Lynn- Italian Flourish Doily Die and cut it out of some red cardstock & gold foil from my stash. I love this doily die because it is beautiful on its own but when You look at it really closely, you could see that each portion is in the natural shape of a "heart". Well since our challenge was to use hearts, I decided this was the perfect way to get more out of this die. So I cut 4 "hearts" out of the gold doily and carefully adhered two down to the heart card base and the other two, to the red Italian flourish doily. Now I have a 6 sided doily that looks like hearts and 2 of those are gold on opposite sides from one another. I did this to give contrast but to also offset the other two gold heart pieces that I adhered to the card base. So I adhered this completed doily piece down making sure to offset the other two gold hearts. You can see them better in the photo below.

Next I cut out some roses using Sue Wilson- Blushing Rose Finishing Touches. I used some of that "Tea Party" rose paper for this as well as some light blue cardstock. I then cut out some leaves and flourish vines using Sue Wilson- Curled Vines Finishing Touches .  I started to arrange the leaves and vines behind the Italian flourish doily until I had them the way I wanted them. Then I took the largest rose and adhered it to the center of the doily and added some more leaves in behind it. I then added a smaller heart sequin to the center of the rose. I just LOVE how this all turned out. It looks like it took forever to create but it came together in just minutes literally! To finish off the card front, I added a few golden-yellow sequins and added my clear Sparkle pen by Spectrum all over the rose and leaves to give that sparkle. But I didn't stop there. I completed the inside as well. Here are a few photos.

The other inside hearts are also from the same Lifestyle Craft's lace heart die set that I created the card base from. And the other rose and leaves are also from the Sue Wilson- Blushing Rose Finishing Touches  & the Sue Wilson- Curled Vines Finishing Touches . The "mom" was created using an alpha stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps and the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment is from a 3 Twenty Crafts stamp set. All of the highlighted die links that I used can be found in the Dies R Us store HERE
